Skin Needling for Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are a fact for 90% of women. And yet, they are one of the most obsessed over skin conditions.

So if there anything that REALLY works to prevent and cure stretch marks? Well....yes and no.

Stretch marks are largely genetic and if you know that you have a genetic predisposition to them you need to take extra care when your body is growing fast. This could be during puberty or pregnancy. Weight gain will also bring them on.

There are countless lotions and potions on the market, some very expensive, that promise to erase stretch marks....do they work? Well...yes and no.

The lotions and potions on the market work because they keep your skin hydrated and some have things such as vitamin A and D that your skin loves and craves whilst trying to heal from trauma. So in that sense they do work. But here is where it goes horribly wrong. You can get all of those things from two household oils that you buy from your food store.

Olive Oil and Avocado Oil have all of the properties that your skin craves and it has them in the purest of forms making them easily absorbed by your skin. The extra virgin versions work the best. Combine both oils on a one to one basis and use them on your skin. They can also be used as a facial moisturiser! When you research the healing properties of these oils, you will never buy another night cream again!

The trick here is to maintain your skin moist. This is specially relevant during pregnancy and after pregnancy.
If you get stretch marks regardless, not all is lost. Carry on using the oil whilst they're pink or red. Your body will try to heal itself. Once they go a silvery white, then the only two options left are laser and skin needling. Both are very effective although skin needling is less expensive and less invasive.

To some degree, getting stretch marks are a right of passage for a woman. We should embrace them but that doesn't mean that we can't take steps to prevent them and fade them.
